Heroes of 9/11

On September 11th America and the world endured an event that will never be forgotten.

Over 100 brave men and women of the Manorville Fire Department courageously served their community and in the process lost comrades and made lifelong memories. On Sunday, September 11th, 2022, join the Manorville Fire Department as we honor, celebrate, and remember our Heroes of 9/11.

When

The memorial service will take place on September 11th from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm.

  • 3:00 pm – Greeting from Manorville Fire Chief Joe Danowski Jr.
  • 3:05 pm – Justino Tesoro sings National Anthem.
  • 3:10 pm – Former Fire Chief Joseph Basile reads the names of local fallen firefighters followed by a moment of silence.
  • 3:20 pm – Amazing Grace played by MFD Bagpipers
  • 3:25 pm – Lower flag to half-mast flag master Firematic representative Peter Hanratty.
  • 3:30 pm – Congressman Lee Zeldin addresses the audience.
  • 3:50 pm – Announcement of the “Heroes of 9/11” scholarship presented by Congressman Lee Zeldin.
  • 3:55 pm – Closing comments by Manorville Fire Chief Joe Danowski Jr.
  • 4:00 pm – Light refreshments in the Fireman’s Lounge with press access.

Support Us

The Volunteer members of the Manorville Fire Department have provided necessary fire service to our community for the past 77 years. While the demands of our volunteers have increased, so has our resolve. We continue to provide the highest level of fire service to our community. Our members attend initial and continuing education classes in order to remain proficient fire fighters. We stay vigilant in order to respond to any emergency 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year. Additionally, we volunteer our time supporting community and civic organizations by providing fire prevention classes and assisting local organizations with various activities.
